My latest documentary on modern sexuality
The world is filling up with tears of those who feel alone.
Men and women have never seemed so desperate for one another and yet so separate and bitter. Our movies feature grand stories of love and sex, we’ve designed apps to match up with one another, every moment of our lives seems dominated by the question of who will I feel close to next. What does it mean to be close though, is that love? What is love? Is love emotional, is it sexual, is closeness just being in someone’s bed for the night?
The modern world has no guidance when it comes to love, and as such young people are in a flurry of confusion and despair when it comes to dating and marriage.
We jump from person to person as though they are a new pair of shoes to be worn and tossed out when we bore of them. “Empty Love” seeks to investigate the modern dating and sexual dilemma. What brought us here? Why are we so confused?
How You Can Help
Initially, my video team and I just planned on this being a short 30-minute video. What we are coming to realize very quickly is we cannot tackle this problem of sexual confusion properly without hitting on every deeply relevant point.
- The history of the sexual revolution.
- The introduction of technology and dating apps.
- Loss of religion and tradition.
- The introduction of pornography in its current form.
- Our loss of physical touch and growing loneliness.
- Our human biology and psychology.
These massive topics cannot be covered properly in a 30-minute piece, so while we did intend to begin editing now, we still have a few more interviews we want to add and massive amounts of work around research and editing to do.
My video team (Randall) and I have created this documentary out-of-pocket so far, and while we have finished a lot of filming, we still have many foreseen costs during the editing and further filming phase. Costs are going towards:
- Equipment Rental
- Team hire
- Studio hire
- Music licensing
- Salary / Editing Costs
Our mini-documentary Empty Love will cover an incredibly necessary conversation today, in a world that seems allergic to honest conversation. Despite honest conversations like this potentially saving people’s lives and futures.
We’re only asking for a small sum to finish this project, as we’ve been able to do so much work just on a volunteer basis. Our goal is to fundraise so we can release this project for free!
